ISKCON Bhagavata Mahavidyalaya is setting up with a plan to fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s heartfelt desire to have a library housing a complete collection of texts from the Vaishnava sampradayas.
Four hundred and fifty years ago at the Radha-Damodara temple, Rupa Gosvami, and then Jiva Gosvami, regularly taught the principles of pure devotion to a group of Vaisnavas, who congregated there from all over India. Following in their footsteps, Srila Prabhupada tried to erect a Vaisnava school on Radha-Damodara’s land behind the inner boundary wall. The temple authorities, however, rejected Prabhupada’s proposal. Eight years after his unsuccessful attempt at the Radha-Damodara temple, Prabhupada outlined a similar plan to his disciple, Ravindra Svarupa dasa. “Srila Prabhupada wanted to establish an “ISKCON Bhagavat College” – a University for ISKCON. One feature of the college would be a library housing a complete collection of texts from the Vaisnava sampradayas.”
– From the book Srila Prabhupada at Radha Damodar.
As mentioned by Srila Prabhupada in the quote, ISKCON Bhagavata Mahavidyalaya has already set up an “ISKCON Bhagavat college”. Now we are requesting you to help us to fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s desire to establish a library. Your contribution will help worldwide devotees who come to the ISKCON Bhagavata Mahavidyalaya to absorb themselves in studying Srimad Bhagavatam, Srila Prabhupada’s other books, books of the Vaishnava Acaryas and also all books by other scholars.
Kindly get involved and donate generously to help us fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s heartfelt desire to establish this library at the lotus feet of Giriraj Govardhan.
